weekending

breakfast aftermath

we had a lovely weekend here. how about you all?

friday, i went out to a delicious indian feast with two good friends. we went back to their house and watched first position. i was skeptical at first, but it was actually really good. i'm not into dance at all, but it was pretty interesting following these kids and seeing how dedicated they are and how their parents support them.

saturday was pretty low key...yoga class in the morning and then just hanging around the house. decluttering a bit, puttering more, and knitting. in the evening we made pizzas for dinner. i've been on a major pizza kick lately and it's on our meal plan for this week again. i didn't have time for it last weekend, but next time i want to try this dough. it looks delicious. we used our homemade tomato sauce that i canned last summer and a variety of veggies on top. so good.

sunday morning started with my new favorite pancakes. the aftermath is pictured above. we did some more house stuff-  hanging up an antique quilt that was gifted to us for our wedding, grocery shopping, and book shopping for our friends' two year old son. i picked out little owl lost at the store, a simple story with beautiful illustrations. we had a fun time at the birthday party sunday afternoon. and finished out the weekend with some really great radio shows (this american life, snap judgement, the moth) while checking the oscar results online. i was bummed that my friend's movie (beasts of the southern wild) didn't win any awards, but i'm still so proud of them for getting nominated.

all in all...it was a nice weekend. sunny and warm (35 is definitely warm these days!). getting some stuff done while still having plenty of time to relax.  what have you all been up to?

  1. I loved Beasts of the Southern Wild! How cool that you are friends with them. I spent part of yesterday listening to interviews about how they made it and I can't wait to see what they do next.
