baby bumble bee
So, a lot has happened since I last wrote...we went to Arizona (baby on a plane! photos to come), I went back to work, I knit some more things for Ethan, and, oh yeah, I decided at the last minute (after hemming and hawing for weeks) that I should in fact make Ethan a Halloween costume.
I feel pretty happy about this decision because (a) it was the first sewing I had done in a long while and it felt really good, (b) I think I did a damn good job at whipping together a homemade costume in a few days, and (c) my baby is a freaking adorable bumble bee. Of course I must credit my brother and his fiance for getting Freddie this costume last year and being the inspiration for Ethan's getup. Incidentally, it is extremely hard to photograph a giant dog and tiny baby together.
I don't remember being insanely into Halloween as a kid (I mean, I dressed up and got candy and all that, but I don't remember being crazy about it) and I certainly haven't been all that into it as an adult. Somehow, though, I can see that changing now that we have a little person to introduce to all the fun. I'm thinking that's just how it'll go with everything from now on, right? The whole world seems a lot more exciting when you're seeing things through the eyes of this little one who has never seen any of it before.
And on that sappy note...Happy Halloween everyone!
